Question regarding transmission and clutch slave cylinder.

Continue on the topic of "lossing clutch pressure" I asked before..
Clutch cylinders problem analyze needed. Please help.

Problems: losing clutch pressure, no pressure at all. Can not shift. Lost clutch fluid in reservoir to below clutch hose.

Today I got down, took off the rear left wheel and looked at it. Both master and slave cylinder appear to be dried, clean, and nice. The whole areas are clean.

I then poured some fluid into the reservoir and asked someone to pump the pedal continuously while I got down and look at the slave cylinder. THe whole area was still dried with no leak, but I saw fluid leaked out at the bottom of the tranny right at the center gap of the tranny housing.

Now I affraid that there is something else went bad beside the slave cylinder since it looked dry and oil is comming out from the tranny, unless.... the slave cylinder is leaking from the inside of the cylinder to the piston rod, which is inside the tranny, then fluid is running down inside the tranny and comes out at the bottom of the tranny.

What do you guys think?

Is there a good or bad slave cylinder regarding brand/type? Any recommendation?

The only place that the cylinder could leak would be around the piston which means inside the bellhousing.

Time for a new slave. if the fluid that was in the system was really gray looking then you have suspended metal that could cause wear in the new parts. Make sure you get it really cleaned out. The master could have been worn because of this too.

Not sure about different brands of slaves. Aluminum is aluminum in this case but there could be differences in the seals and boots. I would just get it from Pelican. Wayne doesn't screw around with junk parts lines.

Thanks Wayne. You ensure me it's the slave. This will be my next weekends task. I should have the cylinder sometimes this week. Hope it's not going to rain.
