turbo fuel pump

i put a 3.3l turbo swap into my car and ran a brand new stock fuel pump ou of a 1980 3.0l. at 5000 rpm my car starves for fuel.i only have the one pump. what pump can i use for a second pump. some one told me i can use a stock vw or audi pump as a second pump. can i leave my stock pump under the rear wheel and just add one in front. if so were in the front does it go. thanks for any info.

In my turbo there's the regular one right behind the fuel tank, under the car and a turbo one in the engine compartment. Or is it the other way around?

The fuel pumps in the 930 are Bosch units

Front 911 608 102 02 (Bosch part no 0 580 254 967)
Rear 930 608 113 00 (Bosch part no 0 580 254 979)

The front pump I believe is a standard 911 fuel pump and the rear is the 930 special pump.

I think the main issue is not how many pumps you have but how much fuel you can deliver at pressure.

The 930 service manual says to test the function of the pumps

"switch on ignition for 30 seconds. Both pumps must deliver 140ltr/hr or 1170cc in 30 seconds"

The Bosch Motorsport data for the 0 580 254 979 (rear) says that it alone will deliver 165 ltrs/hr at 5 bar!

So I would first test the fuel output of your existing pump with the relay bridged for 30 seconds. If it is less than 1140cc then I would simply upgrade the single pump to a higher performing unit.

My suggestion for an upgraded unit are:

Bosch 0 580 254 984. It is rated at 165lts/hr is relatively cheap, has an internal check valve and comes with a 3/8" inlet hose fitting and a 12M x 1.5 outlet fitting.

Bosch 0 580 254 044. Rated at 200ltr/hr @ 5 bar, also cheaper than the stock 930 rear unit. Inlet M18x1.5 outlet M12x1.5 so some hose fabrication will be required. No internal check valve.

Steve
