I'm thinking of increasing my rear t-bar size from 30 to 31mm (23mm front) on my '88 Carrera. It sees 90% track usage.
But I'm wondering if it's worth it. Perhaps I can compensate by running a bit stiffer setting on the rear sway bar? Can anyone calculate what the % change is?

IMHO, thats a pretty modest change,... ![]() Most people who are doing DE events or racing usually need the most rear stiffness one can get and that means a 23mm/33mm combo. Although those torsion bars sizes sound pretty aggressive to some, these are still rather soft spring rates for cars on DOT tires or slicks. Without knowing all the details about your car's chassis and wheel/tire specifications, its difficult to say what might work best for your usage. If it were my own car, I'd not change rear T-bars unless you went up 2 or more sizes.

Thanks for the response Steve. I didn't realize there were torsion bars bigger than 31mm.
More importantly, you've confirmed my belief that it's not worth going to 31mm rear bars. I'll just leave the 30mm bars in.

What problem are you trying to cure?
It may require something other than a torsion bar change or swaybar adjustment. If you describe what's happening and when, we can probably guide you to cure it.
