996 Emergency post tiptronic problem

Hi,
This just happened an hour ago. we are 12 hours from the dealer.
We were climbing up the moutain and doing about 60-70 mph for about 1 hr.
The 996 c4 cab., suddenly couldn t kick down and loses it power, the transmission warning light is on. We pulled over and the trans fluid was laeking quite a lot. Then, we parked the car for about 30 mins to cool down and then try again but the tiptronic didnt shift into any gear. just a 4th gear and D signal flashing. Also, could nt get into reverse as well.

What causes the problem???
Please help.
Burint

If the tranny fluid was leaking badly, it could be dry. As such, the trans will not engage in any gear. Try and find some trans fluid for the car and see if there is a filler tube. For some reason, I think it will be like the BMW trannys that are sealed with no filler tube. If so, you are SOL until you can pull the pan and add fluid and a new gasket.

Burint,

I am not familiar with Porsche transmissions, but based on my experience with automatics, I think a main seal has failed on your transmission, resulting in the loss of fluid you described. The loss of fluid makes it impossible for the transmission to function.
You're going to need service.

Could it be the switch on the tiptronic broken? or the linkeage between the gear and the engine loose??
