Starter Problem still an issue

Ok guys finally got my car back from Don Jackson Porsche, they replaced the fuel lines, did the valve adjustment and oil change and all the goodies to get the car back up...I was driving around and it seemed fine with 3 start ups....went to grab a bite to eat and then I had to crank it 5 times for the car to start...what do the think the issue is now? the fuel pump?

Frank,
Is the motor turning over? At the normal speed? Or is it clicking or turning slowly when you turn the key?

Jeff

I talked to a great Porsche mechanic from LA today he thinks its vapor lock.

I talked to DJ today because I thought I smelled gas, so he said to drop it off and they would have a look at it, he think it might be vapor lock also..

I'll find out tomorrow....just when I got the car back,,,its back at the shop...

we'll have to do a shake down at your house soon with beers, I think I need it so I cant drive my car around ;)

It will just be that much sweeter when you do get to drive it. Just let me know when you want to swing by, I am not leaving town in the near future.

Jeff

What you doing this weekend?

DJ just called and said now I have a bad Fuel Accumulator and thats the reason why I have a hard start after it gets hot...Im guessing thats not the last thing with that CIS system....i am starting to see how much of pain it is when things are not right...

Come on by Saturday. I will be in the garage as usual. I plan on modifying the front shock towers/ shock plate to get more negative camber. Don Davis may stop by also. I can call LeeH and Mad Mike too.

I was thinking accumulator when I read the first post. I just looked at the Pelican catalog and I can't believe how expensive those things are these days. CIS is a pain when stuff starts to break, but rest assured that once you get things sorted CIS is a reliable system.

On the note of getting things sorted, what are the smog requirements like in AZ for an 80 SC? It is possible to strip away alot of the crap on the CIS system that is more smog related than anything and cause more problems its they're worth.
