What would you do??????

My 78 wide body doesn't have anything on the rear deck lid. Should I put a 911SC emblem, or leave it without? What would you do????SmileWavy http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1160755537.jpg

How about a Chevy Bow Tie?:D :D :D

Seriously though, I voted for two categories; Leave it plain (it looks clean) and Have another Rum and Coke:)

Beautiful car by the way!

FenderGuy 10-13-2006 08:24 AM

Hmmmm another thought of a wide body look for mine :D Jeff is right sweet car...can you post more pics?

Dantilla 10-13-2006 08:25 AM

I like the clean look.

My car doesn't even have the hood crest. I feel no need to tell people my car is a Porsche. If they can't identify a 911, they don't care.

charleskieffner 10-13-2006 08:38 AM

i like the clean look despite mine having carerra on the lid. my next diabolical scheme to shed weight!

MattAlpha 10-13-2006 09:06 AM

Gene,
Keep it the way it is!
Looks great.

By the way, do you haveboth engine gas shock (to hold the lid up) in the same hinge or one on both?

By the look of your lid allignment, I'd say you have one on each. If that isn't the case please let me know. I have both on one hinge and seems to continuously prevent from aligning the lid properly.

Thanks,
Matt

BTW, I love the Steelers emblem you embossed on your cat's helmet!

Gene Wilkes 10-13-2006 09:16 AM

Thanks for all the compliments. The rear lid has both shocks on one hinge!http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1160759778.jpg Katzenstillers

livi 10-13-2006 09:18 AM

Yes, leave it. Clean and beautiful !

masraum 10-13-2006 09:55 AM

cleaner is better, but I think I accidentally clicked the "stock SC emblem" box.

Gene Wilkes 10-13-2006 10:01 AM

I need to shoot some new pics. Put a new top on late summer, went dual exhaust and black headlite trim rings. LOOOKINGG GGOOOOD!

Debadged is cool. I've debadged our Boxster, Audi A4 and 911. Very Euro. It's we Americans who started the trend toward "3.6 liter DOHC VVTi auto a/c 6-disc changer Bluetooth" on the trunklid. That and leaving the Monroney glued to the inside of the rear window until it fades to nothing aftere 80,000 miles.

Panzer909 10-13-2006 11:09 AM

Islandmanpa - I'm addin my vote to the "without" camp from the 944 crowd, FWIW.

Where in the Burgh are you from?

Gene Wilkes 10-13-2006 11:11 AM

Gibsonia, PA 15044. About 8 miles towards Butler from Pbgh. Thanks for the vote!!

JBO 10-13-2006 11:14 AM

.....I say slap on Twin Turbo RS, Type R badges post-haste :)

88-diamondblue 10-13-2006 12:55 PM

There was a factory delete code for the rear badges. Mine came without from the factory. Check your codes on the trunk lid if they are still there. Leave it naked!

Slow day!SmileWavy
too much time on my hands!http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1160773048.jpg note the suttle details!

quattrorunner 10-13-2006 01:08 PM

I like to see something there. I like the thought of the modern 911 in chrome badge on the black.

asphaltgambler 10-13-2006 01:40 PM

Black looks too good to clutter-up. Sometimes less is more...........

Nice car btw

fastfredracing 10-13-2006 02:16 PM

Another vote for the clean look, and a hello from A Pitsburgh Pelican, I am about another 10 miles north of you, I will be watching for your ride next season, Looking good!!!!

Gene Wilkes 10-13-2006 02:44 PM

Hi Fastfredracing! I'm actually new to the area (2 1/2 yrs). Look forward to meeting some oil cooled air heads! ;-)
