HELP! no 1st and 2nd gears

I don't have 1st or 2nd gear right now. I was doing a 3-2 shift for and upcoming corner in my 81 911SC and everything was fine. After coming out of the corner(neighborhood speeds) I turned then came to a stop. I tried to put it into 1st but it wouldn't go into 1st. This has really never been a problem that couldn't have been fixed with a shake of the lever. So I put it in 2nd and took off. When I came up to my driveway it tried to put it in 1st again and it just wouldn't go. Then I lost 2nd gear. The car just won't go into 1st or 2nd.

I am hoping that someone has experienced this before and can shed a little light on this for me. This car is my daily driver with a newer(3000 mi)sport clutch and 1 recent(2 days ago) DE in Portland, Or.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Dave, don't panic yet! I think it is just the linkage to the gearbox. check the connection that is under the inspection plate that's located just in from of the back seats under the carpet. What you are looking for is something loose.
