Please help new window motor problems

I just installed a new window motor on the driver side. It went down when I pressed down on the switch. When I pressed up it wouldn't go up. I tried the pass switch and the same problem. I switched the two bottom wires around on the switch and the motor went up but then would not go down until I switched the two bottom wires around. I also replaced the relay with another one and same problem? (pass window works fine)

There is always 12 volts on both terminals of the motor. When you press the switch you are disconnecting the power on one side of the motor and connecting it to ground. To get the window to move in the other direction you are simply reversing the polarity. I would guess its a grounding problem.
