Fuel Line Diameter for Early 911 with Carbs

Hi guys,

I did an extensive search in regards to the fuel line diameter but there is some conflicting info and most of the info is geared towards MFI + CIS.

I'm replacing the entire fuel lines on my 1968 911 (along with a tank restoration). Engine is 2.0L with Weber carbs. What diameter fuel line should I use? 7mm? 8mm? 11mm?

I'm running a Pierburg Fuel Pump and stock Mahle Fuel Filter.

Does the diameter not really matter because the flow can be controlled with a Fuel Pressure Regulator?

A definite answer would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
n.

Nicholas,

Cohline hose-- ONLY. SAE hose is the wrong size and says "MADE IN USA" on the side which is an instant red flag to a potential buyer.

The Cohline hose that feeds the carbs is a 7.5mm ID x 12.5mm OD.

See below. The blue-braid hose is probably wrong, it's 356.

Gasoline is the most hazardous substance most people come in contact with. Be extremely careful and do all your work outside, if the car catches fire it could take the building with it.

John,

thanks for the response.
The 6mm fuel fitting with the strainer that connects to the tank for 1965-73 cars is available from Stoddard.

By any chance, do you know how many meters (or feet) you need to replace the entire fuel lines?

Cheers,
