Sportomatic Conversion

I want to convert the Sportomatic in my 1971 911T to a 5 speed with a pedal operated clutch. The Sportomatic is shot, as is the vacuum diaphragm operated clutch. Has anyone else done this conversion? Would you recommend a 901 or a 915 transmission, and why? What did you do with the separate oil pump and oil lines to the Sportomatic? How did you plug the vacuum connections to the intake manifolds that are no longer required? What problems should I watch out for? Thanks!

I did this conversion years ago on my '73T. The process was simplified because I removed the engine for a rebuild that included a Weber conversion as well. I went with the 915 due to its increased strength and availability. A peddle cluster from an SC was added and everything not needed was simply blocked off and taken out. The sporto was operational when removed so I sold it. There really were no problems with the swap.
