Pic Request - Steering Wheels, etc.

Hey everyone. If you have a shot of your aftermarket steering wheel, would you mind posting it here? I know I would like to see some of the choices out there in real life. Also, maybe comment on what you like and do not like about the wheel you have.

I am going to start another thread for shifters/knobs.

Finally, anyone install the gage bezels on there car. Can you post pics of those. Have you been satisfied with them?

Tezme 10-17-2006 02:58 AM

Hey here you are again. Just out of interest, how come you looking for pics of these things. Anyway heres pics of the steering wheels this time for ya. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1161082546.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1161082676.jpg

SCWDP911 10-17-2006 06:22 AM

Great! Keep them coming! Appreciate it...

masraum 10-17-2006 07:30 AM

Do some searching too, there is at least one "steering wheel pic" thread that I can remember with tons of pics of various steering wheels.

SCWDP911 10-17-2006 08:58 AM

I will look again for the steering wheel thread from past. Problem is, a lot of times those get buried. As to the question of why I want them, just trying to get an idea of what various wheels look like installed.

Thanks

Thanks KC, that is exactly what I was looking for. Had tons of pics in there. Thanks again. No need to respond anymore, unless you just want to.

Yo v8_ranch.....

I have a stock '88 3.2 Carrera coupe.....

I bought a set of the bezel rings from the guy in Germany and sent them back right away. They didnt nest correctly IMO and rather than dicker around with them, I returned them to him. They didnt appear to be cut on the right bias/angle whatever it is.....so dont know if they vary from series to series or what....

He promptly refunded my money though the cost of the receive and return postage was steep. Oh well.

Have decided to have my gauge faces redone in white later this spring. My coupe is platinum with burgundy.

I have a force 11? steering wheel, black red and a little chorme that I will send a pic of as soon as I figure out how to reduce the image in kb's...I would like to have it partially or full re-wrappped in a matching or close burgundy if I could find someone local......

tangerine911S 02-01-2007 02:49 PM

I have a Momo Fighter wheel and leather Momo shift knob that I forget the name of. I like 'em.

Regarding your pics, just open it in MS Paint. Click on Image, Click on Stretch/Skew. Make it the size you want and Save As. Then post it so we can see it.

Thanks for the info on the bezels. I l ike the look I think, but sorry to hear fit may not be quite right.

Good Luck!

These two are Italvolanti wheels. Porsche used Italvolanti on some of their Special Wishes cars.

The wood gearshift knob is a Sola. It predated the Carrera GT by years but has a resemblance.

Both steering wheels and gearshift knob are for sale. They fit Carrera series cars. PM me for details if you are interested.

Thanks!

Yes, in front of the fountain at a small group of shops in the north end of RPV - my old stomping grounds.

Its a Porsche Design wheel licensed to Momo. From what I have gathered its from the 80's. Here is another pic with the optional center pad. I did see this wheel NEW with pad at the Ventura German Autofest show last year selling for $600. It says "Momo" on the left spoke and "Design by F. A. Porsche" on the right spoke. My wheel even has the "pd" logo on the center cap.

I found this wheel for sale on ebay(w/ out a picture). Seller had it on a display vehicle, which was never driven, and just happened to have the exact hub I needed for my car. I got both for 100 plus shipping and they look brand new! It was risky buying something sight unseen but this turned out to be well worth it. All I need now is some black screws, Porsche horn button, and probably remove the "Competition" logo

After not finding black screws to rid my wheel of those shiney flatheads, I took the cheap way out....

quick and cheap....great thinking!

AngM018 02-07-2007 12:30 PM

Well considering I just bought a sharpie to label my engine tear down, that would pretty much be free for me. Thanks for the idea!

TerryH 02-07-2007 04:12 PM

A trick I gleamed from this site. Also works around black window frame and on wheels. It's not perfect nor permanent, but it hides blemishes on black trim.
