Trailing Arms on a 75(ROW), 76 and 77 930?
 

I know these cars used the aluminum S brakes but am trying to figure out if they used regular 911 trailing arms or ones like the later 930's (shorter with a different geometry and different torsion tube mounts) but with different mounts for the S brakes.

If the latter is true, is it much work to put 930 calipers and stub axles on a 75-77 930?

All 930 trailing arms are the same, I believe. You should find the ears to mount the later 930 brakes on a 3.0 Turbo trailing arm, but it needs to be machined to mount the caliper.

'75 -'77 930

front brakes used S calipers; Aluminum, 3.5" ears
rear brakes used M calipers; iron, 3" ears, normal 911 leading mount

strut arms used 901 or 911 pieces

trailing arms have a different 930 part # from 911, are shorter and have raised and rear located pickups relative to 911s.

What Bill said. Also, my 77 930 has ears on the rear suspension arms for both kinds of brakes, the M caliper leading and the later 930 trailing. Only the M ears are machined, but it looks straightforward to machine the rear ears for the later 930 brakes. The suspension is the same on every 930, except for torsion bar and antisway bar changes from year to year. They all use standard 911 front suspension pieces, but with different mounting arrangements and different geometry. The rear suspension on all 930s uses standard 911 spring plates and shocks, but everything else is different.

The turbos all have the same suspension geometry. They use the shorter arms. The early cars had both sets of mounting ears for each type of caliper. The ears in front for the "M" and in the rear for the Brembos, however, the rears are not machined. I installed the larger calipers on my car I wouldn't recommend it. I put approximately 40 hours in the job. I had to remove the arms and disassemble the alxes to gain access to a surface to true the face to. this took a bridgeport, rotary table and many four letter adjustments. if I had to do it again, I'd shop for later model arms and replace them.
