Are genuine parts worth the cost?
When it comes to things like a turbo tail, is it worth holding out for a used factory tail or are the reproductions of sufficient quality?

The only caution is that some are fiberglass, some are carbon, and some are metal. Since there is no issue of dis-similar materials in close proximity or bonding to each other, the choice is really up to your preference and your pocketbook. Just be sure that you choose a reputable manufacturer, since quality and accuracy of reproduction is what cost more than the cheaper ones. BTW, if originality is important to you, stick with a used factory unit. They were designed by the same engineers who designed the rest of the car, and should thus fit much better. Hope this helps.....Andras |

Rich,
I have to agree with Andras on this one and although I don't think that you have to stay with stock, the most important thing should be the quality (fit and finish) so I would go with the used factory turbo tail if you can . I have seen some "So-So" reproductions of the turbo tail and even have a "So-So" tt on my car now ![]() It will eventually be replaced by an extended GT-2 wing When that time comes though, I will be looking for a quality product (read as not cheap) just like you.Good luck! s |
