Rear-ended on Dragon practice run (w/Pics)

Took the 87 Targa up towards Deals Gap for a pre-Pelican run. On the way up I got rear-ended just outside of Chimney Rock, NC.

All parties were uninjured but the cars are a little worse for wear.

Here are the pics:

Dang. Plug the tail pipe and rev the engine, the dents will pop right out! (JK)

Glad no one was injured. Good luck with the repair.

Sorry that happened. It's happened to me twice now in the 911 so I feel your pain. My first rear ender was similar to yours but I didn't have as much quarter panel damage.

FYI - my last rear ender, the body shop installed a pair of NLA concours OEM bumper pads. They are coming off the car for weight and Ruf look reasons. If you need a pair of OEMs send me a note.

Thanks for the offer. The other driver was cited. His insurance company has admitted fault and so far has been very good about making me whole. The insurance regulations in SC are bizarre. I get to pick whomever I want to fix the vehicle and the other guy has to foot the entire bill. No hassle for me, no haggling over price. I just find a shop that I feel good about and they take over all dealings with the insurance company.

I called Protech and they refered me to the local go-to shop for Porsche bodywork. Results will be due back in 3 weeks. Unfortunately for me, I miss the big Run through the Dragon's Tail.

Prials, that really is unfortunate, but like these other guys said, these little cars will take a wack in the butt, and be just fine. Is the traffic still really heavy? Do those leaves look like they will be gone?

prials that sucks. I may be going solo if you want to ride with me. I also would not mind someone who knows Porsche driving my car a little to diagnose a few issues. Later

That stinks prials! Who did Protech refer you to? If you don't want to post here, PM me... as you can tell, I live in nearby Simpsonville, SC. We'll have to get together sometime. BTW, I won't make the Dragon Run either, as I'm in Rochester, NY on business...

Thanks,
Mike

Gee Paul,

That sucks. Make sure they get it right on the repair. That is a nice '87.
