okay to put rotors in the oven?
Will it hurt the rotors to leave them attached to the hubs while heating them up in the oven so I can replace the races?
Thanks.

Thanks 89turbocabmike, that's what I thought but I figured I better make sure.
ianc, I think the wife is more excited about it than I am. Definitely a keeper. Her excitement might devolve when it starts stinkin' though. It'll be an excuse to go out for Thai food!

I may be wrong on this, but I thought people heated the hubs before putting the races back it, not before taking the races out.
I was able to pound them out using a chrome vanadium punch. Use some light oil like air compressor oil, and pound them out. You may have to regrind the punch on a bench grinder or file after each wheel. When you press or pound the new races in, use the proper tool, such as an aluminum bearing press. Make sure the races are fully seated and square in the hubs. I found the right race tool by Lisle Tool at Pep Boys, and a hydraulic press at Harbor Freight. |

Make sure you baste them every 10 minutes with your favorite sauce until golden brown. Serve warm with a cold beer. Enjoy
