Response to Mike Miller
Dear Mike,
IMHO, the fans have made a noticable difference in both the engine temps and AC efficiency. I have posted results taken with an infrared heat gun in the past, you could search as I can't remember the date. In summary, I have the fans rigged to run with the AC and for 2 min after you turn the car off. I know the following: -I have been stuck for 45 minutes in 90+ sunny day with the AC on and the oil temp never got much over 1/2 way between the 2nd and 3rd lines (white) -The AC blows as cold at idle as at speed now. - My vent exit temp with a full R12 charge is 31 deg with 80 ambient - You can feel an ENORMOUS amount of heat coming from under the car with them on. - They have not effected battery life for starting the car - I have even seen the car cool down in rushhour traffic with them on. For instance, if I am driving on a hot day, the oil temp gets about 2/3 of the way between the 2nd and 3rd lines. If I switch the fans on, within 4-5 minutes, the temp cools to just over the 2nd line on the guage. The old post will explain exactly what I used and did. If you need additional info, write me direct at Scott_matre@yahoo.com I gotta say that for the $150 I spent on it, I feel it was well worth it. I have shown it to other 911 owners and they also agreed. Good luck!!!! |

I must be doing something wrong because every time I try doing a search, I am getting a Code 400 error - Incorrect syntax.
- Anyone else find Scott's prior posting on the A/C fan installation? - Chuck |
