Hi All,
I have been reading up on CA smogging. It looks like some supercharger manufacturer (Procharger) have a CA smog sticker or CA approval on them to show the smog station that the supercharger is smog legal in CA. Does any turbo charger have this? I want to install a turbo charger in it, but if I can't get it to pass smog in CA, then I'll go with the SC. John 3.2 Carrera |

I didn't know there were "legal" and "illegal" supercharger and turbochargers. I thought all that mattered was the cleanliness of the gas that eventually made it out of the tailpipe.
![]() I just had my car smogged the other day and they never looked at my aftermarket (K-27) turbo.

If a company gets a CARB certification for a part or system, it means that part of system meets all CARB specifications ands is a legal modification. If it doesn't have a CARB sticker is is not.
BTW it aint easy to get CARB certification. It takes lots O'money and many years. IIRC you have to test a number of the parts for over 100,000 miles each with no failures at all or something like that. |
