Hey, Warren!!!!!!

Warren, I remember u saying that the oil releif valve spring had 70mm. I just ordered two for me and the ones that arrived are 88mm long and 12mm wide.
Do u think they came wrong?

Tks, in advance.

Marcello,

Yes, the 'original' spec. was 70 mm, for the original p.n. 901.107.531.00.

Someone posted a message a while back, that there was an update in the '80's, but no part numbers or details, which I assume would have included new pistons and possibly a new retaining plug. But, it isn't mentioned in Bruce's 2nd edition 'Handbook, so I don't know what to tell you.

Do u think the guy could of mistaken and send me the thermostat spring, if there is one?
If its the correct one, And I put this spring in my releif valve can I assume I will be running with higher oil pressure in the sistem at any bar pressure? Or does this valve works like the thermostat, only opens at a certain Bar pressure?

Both of the relief valves (one in the left and one in the right engine case) use the same spring. I believe the left side is set for 74 psi, and the right side around 88 psi (to protect the engine-mounted oil cooler) ... the only time that the relief valves have any affect on the engine oil pressure is during warm-up conditions.
