				The car runs/the tachs dead

Thanks for all the input on my ignition issues, after replacing the distributor, distributor wire, sprak intensifier cap/rotor-- I replace the CDI and the car started on the first rotation, just need to hook up the timing light and finish the job.

When the CDI blew it melted the center of the rotor, fried the spark intensifier, and the tach is dead. Don't know if the tach caused it, but it must of been a heck of a power surge. I guess I should be thankful I didn't lose anything else. I'll be in the market to have the tach repaired or find a used (gulp new)one with a boost gauge for an 89----any suggestions of resources for repair or to find one. Thanks, Todd |

I have used them lots on clocks and speedometers and they are nice, fast and lots cheaper than N. Hollywood. Sorry to hear about the "melt down," sure sounds like it took lots of things with it. JA |
