X-mas in October

Santa dropped off my present early... '87 3.2l with 70,600 and all cyl. pump under 5% dry.
Now to spiff it up a little. I'm thinking black housing with silver fan and black intake. What do you think?

Up here Christmas in October means it's snowed before Halloween. Again. I like your definition better.

I've often wondered with complete rebuilds running close to 8-10K if a new read "used" motor wouldn't make more sense. How much could I expect to pay for a rebuilt stock 3.0 for my SC and is there a motor exchange program?

Whatever you do, don't think about a certain "motor" (builder) in Downey, CA. If anyone comes close to an exchange program, he does and this is not the way one should go about rebuilds on flat six, air cooled motors.

You'd be better of sending it to me and I don't build motors and I didn't even stay at the Holiday Inn.

Poeple do sell running motors in good shape in order to upgrade. With patience, you should be able to find a 3.0 that checks out with a leak down, etc., for 3K and up. Look for receipts if the seller is claming a recent rebuild and asking more.

Good info Milt. This motor is repalcing a certain meister builder 2.7.

ulrichd- If your looking to upgrade, try DC Automotive. They've been really fair on the motors I've seen come from there.
