Oil Leak ideas?

I have been searching the archives til my eyes are red and have found too much helpful info but still can't find the leak. This is an 80 911SC

The symptoms: Only seems to happen while engine is running, and continues to drip for a while thereafter.

Location: driver side - seems to be coming down between the #1 & #2 cylinders, it is on the cooling tin for the #1 cylinder between 1 & 2, and then runs down the case and drips off the sump plate.
It is also all over my heat exchanger

I have pulled the exhaust valve cover and all exhaust studs are secure, the rocker shafts don't appear to be leaking at all. The lower through-bolt on the case right there is not leaking, and from what I can see of the one above it, it also appears to be dry. Not too much can be seen from above, but it doesn't look like the breather or temp sender are leaking either.

My mechanic put it up on the lift for a look-see he was stumped as well, and he has a reputation for being able to diagnose just about any leak on these cars.

Anyone with any ideas please chime in...

Thanks

Probably a top problem, oil sender is a big candidate, oil coolers will crack too,and oil thermistat....
Do a partial engine drop pull the air cowling off and I am sure you will see the culprit (s)

Everything on the passenger side of the engine is clean, which leads me to believe it is not the thermostat, temp sender, etc. But thanks for the thoughts.

I will probably end up dropping it over the winter anywho, and just end up replacing all the seals and hoses, as most are 26 years old at this point.

It quite difficult to isolate a rocker leak on visual w.o. a super good cleaning and some baby powder
