What is best way to remove Weber manifold throttle linkage going to trans area.

Its the long linkage (couple feet long 1/8" dia bar) on the left side manifold.

Thank you.

For later SCs and 911 Carreras (and some racers): The ball cup is retained on the ball by a safety pin. Remove the pin by rotating it around the ball cup and then pulling it out. This is dificult with everything (CIS/DME) in place. Not too bad with MFI and easy with carburators.

Pop off the ball cup at the bell crank on the intake manifold/throttle body (or base if CIS/DME. A 10 mm open-end wrench works well to pry with. The link will then slide about 5 cm on the pivot at the bell crank on the transmission. There is a wide place in the wire hoop where the link can come off the pivot. The link can now be removed from the hole in the engine tin, down and to the front.

Best,
Grady
