I have the gages from years ago, but no temp. gages. Can I add to my "kit" (these are professional quality that cost well over $100 20 years ago) to service my own AC?

A couple of Robinair #50945 (or equivalent) bimetallic pocket dial thermometers (~$6 ea.) and the pressure-temperature chart/table for the refrigerant being used will suffice. Since the harness is probably a vintage R-12 rig, adapters for the R-134a service ports (if the system was converted) will likely be required. Don't forget the safety goggles.

I have the sc condensor, the front condensor, it used a york, which has never been in the car since I have owned it. I have a carrera cooler with fan on now. The intercooler will be similar to stock size if not stock. I just hoped there might be a "good" kit for the 911 making it unnessissary to compile the parts myself. Thanks, BA

Just got back to ready this thread and see there was a lot of input. I didn't realize that there would be no significant change in performance going back to R12. I guess I thought that was why people didn't like it was the loss of performance.
I can check on the oil that was used as the shop that did the conversion to 134 is local. I should have taken a look at this last year as the dryer blew out and I had to have it replaced along with all the charge.
I appear to lose about a can a year or so but on a hot humid day 90 plus it just doesn't have it. Now by "it" I haven't taken vent readings so I will hold judgment until I can get a thermometer. I have both 134 and 12 gages sets don't why I don't have a thermometer.
I may also be wrong but I thought that r134 was a smaller molecule size and leaked more than r12. I may just look at one of those $90 drums of 134 and call it good.
