Recognize this engine located in Laguna Hills, CA??
Does anyone recognize this engine? I am looking for any info on the build of the engine. It apparently went to the current owner PCA member Robert Keele in Laguna Hills from the PO in Pomona who had it built for an RS (clone?) track car and put about 6K miles on it. He apparently crashed the car and sold the CO the engine to pay for the body rebuild. CO put 3K miles on it, a couple of AutoX days and is selling it as he now bought a 3.6.
What would it entail to install this in my stock SC that had CIS and how difficult are webers to maintain/tune on a track car also driven on the street (besides the gas mileage)? This is a great set up for my SC but I would like to know if anyone has any additional info. Thank you!! So far, I only have these specs and engine is still in car for testing: '79 case complete with electronics, fuel pump, reg, early muffler, etc. 8.5:1 compression perfect leak down test 911E cams 40mm Webers early exhaust backdated exchangers no oil leaks turbo oil pump ![]()
