vdo gauge question

I recently updated all my vdo gauge in my 1972 911 to some that were from I think a 1974-75. My question is that even though all electrical wires matched up to the new gauges, the NEW oil pressure/temp guage has two extra lights on it that I cant use. one is a red light on the oil temp that warns you that its too damn hot. the other is A green light. Now, my OLD oil temp/psi gauge had only two lights; emergency and generator. I would love to get these extra two lights going but my cars' electrical doesnt have them. The only electrical diagrams I have are the haynes, pardon me but they suck? I think they are there for some to stare at and give up because they werent as informative as I was hoping they would be. Example, I found the correct wiring diagram for 74-75 and they dont show the two extra bulds in fact the picture they use to represent the oil guage is the same for all wiring diagrams. HELP!

thanks louis
