A long time lurker and very grateful for the info. I have a question about where the 8 and 10 fuse boxes sit in a 1972 911. The one I have has had a terrible DIY fix which has ripped the originals out. Can some post a picture of their fusebox so I know where to mount them? I'll add a pic of what I have later today, it's awful!
Thanks, Mike |

Many thanks for the pics. Just what I needed.
To follow up on what I have ![]() Not sure these connectors are original! Got some bullet connectors incoming. Also the 'current' fusebox: ![]() Couldn't find any Porsche logos on it... Thanks again, Mike |

Good luck with that! Post an update when you make progress. This could be some excellent before and after shots.

Holy, what the hell? Now that is a fuse "box." The person that did this was somewhat going in the right direction using the new types of fuse/holders which a few people that done, but that red box just doesn't cut it. Did the car run, or did you get it with everything unplugged?

The engine runs well but half the dashboard does not work so it's not roadworthy. The electrics are not so complicated in these older cars. No fancy electric windows or seats. So I am tackling this as a learning project with no rush to finish. Slow and steady. Looking forward to tidying this up though.
One thing to think about is the engine and gearbox is from an '84. They are in great condition. I could take them out and sell them for the price of a 72 engine and gearbox but they have been added well. So do I go original or stick with something that is a bit more developed and works well? I am not in a rush to decide. Getting it roadworthy is the first step. |

If you wish, I can build you an ATO style fuse panel that will bolt into the original location. Would take about a week to have it ready to go!

Be sure to get and study the wiring diagram for your car. The German way is not like the 'murican way.
