Brake lights and license plate lights
I am a new Porsche (89 911 Cabriolet) owner, this is my first thread, and I need help. My brake lights are not coming on. My license plate lights are not coming on either. All other lights are working properly. I have changed out the bulbs. Any ideas?

Tomas, Welcome to the board.
Is your fuse good? If so try cleaning the ends and the connection points on the fuse box. If not replace it.

How do I determine which fuses control these sets of lights?

look for the one that is broken....it will be obvious when you open the fuse box....also there should be a diagram inside fuse box lid...also look in your owners manual

Counting from the back of the car, the brake light fuse is the 7th fuse. It should be an 8 amp. If it is not broken, clean the tips of it and the connecting points on the fuse box with some emory cloth or fine sand paper.

The initial post is similar to my problem: brake lights don't work and pressing the brake pedal causes the fuse to blow. There is a short somwehere, although I've been able to pinpoint it. Also, I've just discovered that the license plate lights no longer work either. Any thoughts?
