Got my COA Today

Very nice aethetically - and confirms the car is numbers matching.

However, under the heading of "Optional Equipment" it says; "Without Spoilers in conjunction with Turbo Look".

Wasn't the "Turbo Look" available only AFTER the turbo was introduced - sometime after 1979? What a crock of **** - show this COA to someone and they're just gonna laugh. Or am I missing something here?

The M491 Turbo Look option showed up in the US for the 1984 model year.

However, the option code could have been 'recycled' and used for later year non spoiler M491 cars with Porsche just tacking on the "in conjunction with Turbo Look" to the description of the option code to help make it relevant to the later cars. What option number is the one you are questioning on your car?

I would assume the people at PCNA that do the COA just look up the codes from a database and don't care as to how relevant the listed description is to a particular car.

They are a crock if you think about it. The specific information that you pay so dearly for is incorrect. No excuses for this other then they are gouging you. Should be free to all owners as a symbol of thanks in my opinion.

The opiton number is not given. I will say that it has no spoilers - but I don't think any were available - unless you call the "S" front bumper an optional spoiler.

Spoke to Porsche - they were very apologetic and had me fax them a copy showing the problem. I made it clear to them that if they had misinterpreted the code I wanted to know what that was - don't just delete the erroneous info. I'll keep you posted.
