Diagonal Brake Circuit Help
 
Having a problem with the brakes after rebuilding my calipers. Went through bleeding recommendations that Early S Man had previously posted and verified that all the pistons are not hanging up and are indexed at 20 degrees appropriately.

The car pulls slightly to the right under braking and I can get the Right Front and the Left Rear wheels to lock up under hard braking. The Left Front and Right Rear do not lock up.

My wrench mentioned to me that it may be the master cylinder hanging up and to drive it for a while to see if the check valve frees up.

If this doesn't correct itself....Am I looking at replacing the Master Cylinder as a cure? And if I am.....would a rebuilt Master from Cardone be OK?

There is no hydraulic connection between "Right Front and the Left Rear wheels"

the m/c has 2 circuits 1x both front, 1x both rear

the p/v is on the rear circuit only it is in the trunk near the booster

sounds like a corner balance issue to me.

I second the opinion about corner balance obviously the car is sitting heavy on Front Right/Rear Left diagonal.

MC hanging up?? Ummm get a new mechanic.

It sure sounds like a corner balance problem to me. Or there is still air in the system somewhere. Bill is right, on circuit for the front, one for the rear.

I concur with Bill V - a corner balance issue. Sounds like the RF and LR are light, supporting less weight, thus their propensity to lock up first.

FIXED IT!!!!

I forgot to mention it was braking fine before I took it all apart....seals in the calipers were toast... Didn't change the ride heights. Bill V's and the other posts got me thinking though.......


What I wound up doing was taking the front pads and wheel from the right side and swapped them with the left side. I thought I put them back on the correct side, but they got changed around somehow.

Now the car tracks straight and more importantly doesn't dive to one side under braking. Thanks for the replies. Keeps the mind rethinking. To the point where it kept me up last night.

What was going through my mind was things like making the brake line connections too tight, crushing the opening smaller, thereby reducing flow.
