Vinyl Maintenance

I apologize fro asking a questin that has probably been answered dozens of times, but what do you use on your dash? I'm told taht Armor-All is perhaps the WORST stuff to use, but is there a treatment that can make the dash glisten like new? And how about plastic parts?

I'd heard that rubber parts react well to Black Chrome, so I used it wiht good results.

Black Chrome works great on the vinyl and dash too! That 303 space aged stuff mentioned in previous discussions sounds like it could even be a step better.

A few days ago, in response to a similar post, I added the following:

"I use 303 Aerospace Protectant on all my rubber, vinyl, leather and plastic (EXCEPT the floor mats and pedals!!!!). I have no connection to 303 -- just a happy customer.
I have no idea how, but it actually softens old vinyl and stops sun damage from worsening. Nine years ago, before I found 303, my dash developed a split about 1/4 inch long starting from the radio speaker holes up near the windshield. It has NOT grown (thankfully) since I started using 303.

Very cool stuff. Shiny but not too shiny -- get comments all the time. A web browser search will pull up a bunch of info on it."

You can get it at http://www.***************/am/page_listings7.asp?c=20800&p=32030

or others, I am sure....

I use the 303 protectant on my 83SC with
good results. The 303 is hard to find ( mail order ) in a pinch I've used the Vinylx by
Lexol it works good but is more glossy than
the 303.
