Telescopic oil return tubes
I have a couple of oil return tubes leaking on my 28 year old 2.4. Anyone have advice on the reasonably priced telescopic oil return tubes vs. the OEM ones from a reliability standpoint?
Thanks |

Have used the plastic and metal ones and both work fine... make sure that you get new style "O" rings. Its not a hard job and if they are leaking now, someday you will come back to the car and find a puddle of oil under the motor...
I just purchased a set of three on EBay for $50 or so just as a spare... its something that you will need someday! JA |

I found a good deal on the telescopic kind. e-mail me if you wish.
It seems to me they had green o-rings and I've been told that the really cool o-rings are tan. I put all four in and no leaks whatsoever. Leaked like a seive (sp?) before. One trick is to put a hose clamp in the tub before putitng it under the car. This gives it more support and strength, and give you something to pry on without bending the tube with your channel locks or vise grips. Use the hose clamp idea. There was nothing I had to remove. ------------------ '83 SC |
