RSR Clone in Excellence
This month's Excellence will be featuring an article my RSR clone.
http://www.excellence-mag.com/ I built this car with the help, and inspiration of many of you on this board. Our own Noah Pollak wrote the article. He and Pete Stout collaborated to produce a great personal story of my realizing the dream of building and owning an RSR. The photos were taken by Rich Chenet who is the North American motorsports photographer for Porsche. My son and I met Rich at Watkins Glen this past summer prior to the PCA Zone 1 DE. He shot actions and stills for about 5 hours in and around The Glen. The previews of the photos and the article were outstanding, so enjoy this month's Excellence and know that many of you had an awful lot to do with me realizing a dream. ![]() ![]()

Tom,
This is a great accomplishment. For all: The car is better looking in person! Tom's attention to detail, and his commitment to doing a clean job is a mark of a professional. Maybe there is a "Tom's Restorations" in the future?? The single best part is, Tom, YOU did most of the work yourself. A few too many Excellence cars are custom built with minimal work by the owner. It's good to see a real project car completed by the owner. Proof positive are the pictures of your garage (car lift envy) and the RSR in parts. I also want to thank you for making you journey public on the Pelican BBS. What a great way for everyone esle to see how it can be done. The questions you asked and the reponces given here are a good example of how the web should work. Hey, could this be the basis for a good restoration book?

Tom,
Well deserved and congratulations! I read every thread, but even without that background, the car speaks for itself. Doug

Beautiful car Tom, can't wait to read all about it.
Don't get the crazy itch to sell it anytime soon.

I can't wait for the article. That car is one of the best looking Porsches I've ever seen.
