anyone ever seen a tinted rear cabrio window?
Since I live in Texas, the sun bearing down is my cabs worst enemy regarding interior fade. I'm thinking about having my door windows tinted, but one problem exist, the rear plastic window is clear, and I know you can't tint that type of plastic(?), the back seats are where most of the fading occurs. I've already had to replace the rear carpet once due to the sun fading the black out. Tinting the windows and replacing the rear plastic clear window with one already tinted makes sense, I think. Has anyone ever run into the same problem, or ever replaced their rear plastic clear(that's a mouth full) window with a pre-fab window that was already tinted, or should I just leave it alone?
Thanks! |

Hi Jeff. That sounds like a good idea. My car came from the south and the rear seats show a lot of damage/wear and I don't think many people were ever back there. A boat canvas shop should have the materials and expertise to do the job correctly.

Jeff,
Haven't ran into your problem yet (maybe because I don't have a cab) but I did see a '89 Speedster here in Hawaii with what I believe was 5% tint all the way around. Driver/passenger windows plus rear window was pitch black. Just an idea... ------------------ Jeff 1976 911S |
