73 911T rear Sway bar Mount provisions
I'd like to install the factory version 15mm swaybar, but the provisions for the Bar Saddle Clamps to body structure & Ball Sockets for Links to attach to control arms don't appear to exist. Is this normal that factory din't provide mounting provisions? Can these be added? From the picture in Hayes manual page 153 Fig 6.17., looks like holes would need to be added to body.

The mounts are a weld-on item. Make sure you source the "upgraded" version or better still - Wevo items. It is probably best done at a shop familiar with the process as the mounts must be placed precisely in position using the sway bar and drop-links as a kind of template before needing a competent welder to finish the job.
The link balls are added to the swing arm at the same time. Try using the search button on the top right of the page - it's been covered a few times with pictures

Front and rear sway bars were optional on T-cars and standard on E and S cars. If not equipped from the factory, the mounts were not installed. The ball-tipped pieces are available from the factory (at least they were). You'll have to weld them on. The rear sway bar saddle clamps (onto the torsion bar tube) are an aftermarket solution for cars without rear sway bar mounts (Weltmeister). The factory mounts are welded to the chassis as shown in the Fig. Sherwood |
