Where to mount quad circuit breakers
 

I am re-wiring my headlights and will be using the quad relay and quad circuit breaker method.

The relays will be hung on the inside front of the compartment, near both the buckets.

But, the location for the circuit breakers (standard automotive type with two 10/32 studs each) is troubling me. Has anyone discovered a good location, method of mounting and insulating 4 of these things?

I don't want this to look like a hack job when I'm done...

Any advice/opinions appreciated.

i still have my 8 CB panel laying next to the battery on the floor.


but my relays are in the trunk under the front bulkhead lip up high appx 8" from the tub battery lug.

I used threaded rivets and very long machine screws to help prevent dropping the screws.

Ronin- Do you have any pics handy of your CB panel? Remember where you sourced it?

You could try a bracket that bolts in. Take a look at the well designed battery cutoff switch bracket from TRE for inspiration.

No pics right now. I was at the NC Dragon Tail pelican meet and I'm having difficulty wanting to return home. I'll return in a few days here and ask if you're still interested.


The mfg is Blue Sea Systems. Hit their site for an eyeball of some trick marine CB panels. They are magnetically tripped, not heat tripped and are vapor proof CBs. Many panel styles and sizes.


West Marine is pretty good as a supplier. A good shopper could figure another 10% off at another place.

Look at how the stock fuse panel is setup. I bent an aluminum sheet just like the stock panel and mounted it to the 2 fender bolts just in front of the fuses.
