headers and heat exchanger

I searched the forum and haven't found the exact answer .

1974 911S Newbie....bought the beast last week.

I have ordered a new muffler (old one looks like swiss cheese)
The headers appear to be ok, but the heater boxes around them have major cancer.

Can the heater boxes only be replaced or are they a one piece unit.
If they are one piece, I might choose not to use heat and go with these headers...does any one know what these are like?
electrodyne headers

I strongly suggest that you invest in SSIs and the muffler of your choice.

You will want heat, you will not want any possible way for CO to enter the cabin

Pretty much everyone who gets headers without heat exchangers on a street-driven 911 regrets it. It's not just heat -- it's defogging the glass. Bill is right. SSI's are a great way to go.
