Ground straps to engine lid?
I'm trying to clean up my engine comparment and noticed what appears to be two ground straps between the body and the engine lid. The straps follow the contour of the hinges. Are these necessary? There's nothing electrical living in/on my fiberglas lid.

WHATEVER YOU DO DON'T REMOVE THOSE STRAPS!!
haha just kidding. They were put there for German anti-radio interference rules back in the day. They are useless, doubly so with a FG lid.

OK, thanks. For all I know, they were some sort of safety strap to keep the hood from flying off at speed...
