Blinker Fluid?
Check for a bad bulb or bad connection/short at the socket. I don't see how you couldn't have a relay... ![]() If it doesn't blink on both direction I would look for said relay that doesn't exist.

Is this the Euro one sided parking light functioning? As for the flashers, I believe all cars will flash 4-ways w/o the key.

It is normal. Most european cars do that. It is supposed to warn other drivers that there is a parked car at the side of the road.

Comon Milt, your old enough to know this one. This was a German thing for saftey. If the car broke down and you pulled over, you would turn the road side signal on to alert other drivers so they won't hit you while you were out looking for help. This way you didn't have to leave the key or keep the ingintion on, nor drain down the battery by the time you got back with help. Very helpful on those foggy Bavarian nights on the Autobahn. Those crazy Germans, you just got to wonder if they have this guy sitting around thinking this stuff up.

My Porsche did this once. Turns out it was a drink holder.
Old Porsches don't like drink holders. They're kind of like girlfriends. They test you if they think you aren't paying attention.

Its a normal function designed into the 911 cars worldwide. In otherwords nothing is wrong.

That function is not for emegencies. It is for night parking, mostly in town, where the roads may be very narrow. You light the side that's out in the road. Lighting one side only (vs. all parking lights) will reduce current to the point where you can keep the light on all night without draining the battery. All German cars had this function.

Thanks all, that actually makes good sense.
BTW they do flash with ignition on, so I guess bentley is wrong, now I gotta go check on this noisy muffler bearing.....
