Loctite 574 sealer
I have a question about residual case and cam hosuing sealer on the inside of the engine. Is it safe to run a motor a day or two after a rebuild? I'm sure the sealer that sqeezes out into the engine is safe
and will not clog oil ways etc. but just want to make sure |

Unless the instructions on the Locktite say otherwise, you should be perfectly safe after an hour or less (read the instructions).
BUT - The factory manual specifically states something like "apply sparingly" or "use a thin layer" or words to that effect. So, hopefully you haven't used too much! Assuming you haven't used an excessive amount of sealer, a day or two is far more than enough - good luck when you fire it up for the first time! - roGER |

Cheers Roger,
The loctite bottle I had was in German so I hadn't a clue what it said. Probably fire it up next week. Still waiting on my cam grinds from Motormeister. I reckon I used just enough sealant as the small bottles which most say are 'just enough' for one engine finished after I sealed the second cam housing. Let you know how it goes next week.
