75 911S floorpan soundproofing
Hello all,
I am finishing up on some floor pan replacement and have a question on soundproofing material. I removed the original asphalt type soundproofing from the entire floor pan. I have found a few soundproofing mats for sale and have also found what looks like the 1/16 asphalt material similar to what I removed. I am concerned with the dynamat type products being too thick. Has anyone used the dynamat or comparable products and have any opinion on which to use, the mats or the asphalt type? Thanks in advance, Randy |

I believe Dynamat comes in several thicknesses...

I used some Dynamat-type asphalt material from JCWhitney. Not per factory specs, but I didn't want horsehair underfoot. In other areas, I only applied it sparingly on flat areas (door, trunk) as the weight can add up.
