Which seats to buy to save weight on a street car
Looking for either new or used very lightweight front seats. These will be used in a street car and do not need harness passages. Vinyl is a plus. Does anyone know where to start looking ? These will be used in an 82` sc.

kurt,if you are after a reclining style seat you will be pressed to save hardly any weight. if you went to a fiberglass(sparco) you will drop a bunch but they are not the best seats for long trips. most of the fiberglass 1pc seats are around 21lbs ea. the aftermarket reclining seats are 45-50lbs. ea. i just comfirmed these weights on the sparco website.

Miata seats. Seriously. They are very light and the early seats look very similar to stock SC seats.
Check out this link where I was test fitting Miata seats for sizing and headroom purposes: http://www.dorkiphus.com/porsche/showthread.php?t=11546 |
