Seat belt interchange question
I am looking to replace a frayed driver side front seat belt in my 84 Carrera. Does anyone know what years and makes shared this seat belt?
Thanks in advance! |

They safety pin on the seat belt different for Targa and Coupe Models. The seat belt main is bolted on a plate connected to the unit body behind the rear interior quarter panel.
Now if you have a drill, you can make a minor hole to fit either or. If not - Make sure you have the correct model. 74 thru 89 will work. You have floor-mounted receptacles. If you choose an even later model year, 90 thru 98, you need to change these out. Now, try to get some out of a later production 911 to find a decent used part, like an 88. VW, Audi and Porsche interchanged their seat belts for the mid-years, so go a little later. I run 993 Belts in my 82 – However I also have later power seats and receptacles for this model. Call Spencer @ Parts Heaven – It will be a little pricey, shipped out same day and your done. Hope this helps. Jason Cullen |

I flipped my rather stiff and thick stock belts for the more flex Carrera belts.

944 and 968 belts work too. Maybe a small amount of drilling but very simple.
