New Interior
I have an '87 Carrera Coupe and I would like to replace the interior. Can anyone recommend good interior shops that are familiar with Porsches. I just had an estimate done for an interior replacement from a local guy using good quality vinyl and no headliner replacement for $4700.00 I thought that was insane. I need a baseline. Please advise!

The interior is about the easiest thing to redo on these cars. If you are handy at all you can DIY. Seats, carpet, door panels etc. are easily replaced.
The headliner is the only thing you might want to hire out.

$4,700 is WAY too much and as jester911 said, it is a very easy DIY. It takes some time but nothing difficult. I had my seats redone in leather plus got new carpet all for well under $2k. It took me a couple of days to install the carpet...worked on it as time was available. A shop here in Escondido did the seats, great job...not sure about a shop in the LA area.
Good luck. Wayne C. |

I guess it all come down to what "replace my interior" means? +1 on DIY - I did mine at 3K but not quite done yet. Included replacing the front seats, carpet, door panels, 930 steering wheel and floor mats. Took my time over a 3 week span.
