Early Floor Mounted Defrost Switch

When I tore apart my car a couple of years ago I removed this from the floor. It was mounted to the right side of the emergency brake handle right on the tunnel.

Now I don't remember how it was wired. All I have is what appears to be this cover to some type of switch. There are 2 small screws still screwed into the tunnel but nothing else.

But I also have another defroster switch mounted on the dash by the foglight switch. Can anyone tell me what I'm missing for this switch, what color the wiring should be and where the wiring goes.

I know, I know, I should have taken pics before I tore everything apart!

uh, there is no wiring for that, that is just a labeled plate if I'm correct, with a bulb underneath it?

I might be way off.

That is the origination of the idiot light. All it is, is a light. It has no purpose except to light up when you turn your lights on. They say the German's think of everything, maybe with this one they thought too much.

I think I know what you mean, it's for the heater control lever on the floor. But is it suppose to light up when the heat is on?

So it pretty much has nothing to do with my defrosters. It's funny though, I can't seem to find this part listed in the Pelican parts catalog. Not much of a hot item, eh?

Mine works sometimes and other times not. It is hooked up to the lights. When working properly it has nothing to do with the operation of the defrost.
