Rust behind door striker's?
I'm looking at a '75 Targa that has (yet to be seen) rust in the door striker area. Is this a simple repair and what else should I be concerned about in a car with rust like this?

Worth mentioning is that '76 and later 911s are galvanized.

pull that wheel and check it out carefully if the car has some other strong virtues
otherwise just pass

You live in San Diego, land of plenty of rust free Porsches. I'd pass on it unless the car is absolutely dirt cheap and/or had parts that I needed or were valuable. You'll find a rust-free car in your price range if you keep looking.

poke it with an ice pick in all the usual areas
check the smile, the headlight buckets (remove lights) and the area around the tail lights (remove also) check all inside the F & R wheel wells - fore and aft where the wheels throw salt and water - who has other areas to post for him?
