rough translation:

"Ever since the 60s the Porsche 911 has put both test drivers and owners and drivers to the test with its aggressive handling. Especially the more powerful models have produced elevated adrenalin levels, even for those of us who drive these cars on a more regular basis.

But that was in the old days. Despite the fact that the rear engine concept makes the 911 really ass-heavy, the new 911 is so well polished and tame that even my grandmother would be able to drive it.

So what do you do if you are thirsting for that classic adrenalin shot? Do you need to get one of those old vipers from the 70s or 60s? No, you get one of these.

This is the new 911 GT3 and it will change your view of sports cars for ever. I'll show you what I mean...

This is the most dramatic curve on our test course. In the normal 911 you enter in third gear and feed in a lot of throttle. But although the speed is quite high, the most dramatic thing that can happen is that the front wheels let go and the car understeers a bit. With the GT3 things look a bit different.

The GT3 was already a competent asphalt hugger. This year it has the suspension management system PASM but it's firmer than in the regular 911. It also has a limited slip differential and gigantic composite brakes. Now you'll understand why this car goes like a full-blood race car.

The engine's DNA comes from the GT1 and revs faster and higher than any other Porsche for sale. The rev limiter doesn't kick in until at 8400 rpm. The peak power is 415 hp, which corresponds to a specific output of 115 hp/l. The sound it makes isn't bad either.

It'll do 0-100 km/h in 4.3 seconds and the top speed is above the 300 km/h marker.

I'm hanging like a booger from the brakes.

The GT3 is far from the most brutal sports car in the world: it has too little power. What it does have is an incredible chassis and marvelous brakes that seem to in principle defy gravity. The 2006 Nobel prize in physics should have been awarded to Porsche."
