Cam line hollow bolt

sort of searched without finding the specific answer so I thought I'd ask.
Is this thing called a hollow bolt and sometimes referred to as a banjo bolt?

Changed the right side cam oil line and wondered about that hollow bolt.
Did this with the a/c bracket still on the car what a PITA!

Ran the car for about a minute and didn't notice any leaking.

How do you know you have the bolt (holes) aligned correctly or do you just tighten it down?

Don't you somehow have to align one hole in the bolt were the oil line enters that ring?

How do the holes in the bolt do their job?

thanks.

It will work through the entire 180 deg of alignment, due to a curved open area within the banjo fitting.

Nope, see above

The oil comes up through the hollow bolt, then exits those holes and into the banjo fitting. Make sure you have a washer on either side of the banjo fitting

thanks.
Hope that answers your questions...

Send a message via AIM to Gogar
The 'banjo' is round like a tire; you don't have to line up the 'holes', oil will flow anyway.

Thanks for the quick replies!
I did place new washers on both sides of the bolt.
