rocker switch under gauges
Anyone know what the rocker switch under the lip under the gauges does (or did) on a 78 SC Euro?
Looks very stock to me.

If you have power mirrors then it could be the left/right control selector if it is the one between the fuel and oil gauges.

Sunroof switch was placed there on most cars. On Targa's or cars without a sunroof it does nothing but they stuck the switch there to close the hole.
Have seen it used as a kill switch for a poor mans burglar alarm.

Spede i had to steal your avatar....SORRY!
My 2yr old got the movie over Thanksgiving and we have now watched it approximately 19 times. LOVE the 'pit stop' scene and the end where Guido falls over after M.S. talks directly to him. Good stuff!

As Joeaska said, the hole is plugged if unused, and the plug itself resembles a rocker switch but does not move.

Mambodave,
Since we had the same type of original car, I would agree with the mirror selection rocker switch used to control the angle of the side mirror that you selected. If you post a pic I can confirm this. I've heard from a few people that these switches are prone to failure. So if you can't change the direction of one of the mirrors, it most likely means that this switch has failed. -Matt

It is in fact the control for the side mirrors...switch left = left mirror...right = right mirror
