Muffler replacement

I'll be replacing the muffler on my 1973.5 911T. What do I need to look out for? Do I need to buy new straps? I've bought a Dansk SS muffler painted grey - what color should the straps be - I've seen pix in books of both black and grey straps with a grey muffler. My straps are black and my muffler is black now. Is there a concern with the new muffler not lining up with the HX? The existing muffler to HX bolts and nuts appear to be in excellent shape. I plan to soak them with WD-40 for 24 hours before I try to loosen them. The strap bolts look good.

you can reuse your old straps, may want to polish it up to look new again.

You may want to check your gasket, may need replacing...
