Water leaking from window to rocker panel?
Will a leak around the rear window seal in an early ('73) coupe lead to water in the rocker panels? I recently had to leave my car out in the rain and discovered moisture on the passenger's side floor. I have the passenger seat and floor mats out for other reasons, and the water is clearly coming in from the weep holes on the inside of the passenger's side rocker panel. The door and quarter window seals are relatively new, but the rear window seal looks older and is cracked in a few places. Could water be getting in around the window and filling the rocker panel?

__________________ Jay, I understand rocker panel to mean the area roughly between the front and rear door pillars, just below the door sill. Is that correct? It's been a while since I saw that area "raw"(without seats and carpets), so the weep holes are things I don't recall unless you mean the holes that have the small plastic plugs in them. Anyway, if this is the area you mean, I don't see how a leaking rear windshield gasket would fill the space in the rocker. Too many of us have seen the damage in the rear parcel shelf, rear seats, and rear floor pan from this flaw as it's the easiest path for water to run. Your post metioned a 73 coupe, but your "signature" is 73S Targa. If you have a Targa, then the possibilities of leaks into the rocker multiply, but I have no experience with them, though many others on the board do. Regardless, you may have a problem with water entering the rocker cavity from somewhere, and you definitely want to replace a suspect rear windshield seal. Sorry I could be more help. Larry
